The #1 comment about this picture was, "Man that's a lot of dirt!"

Can't argue with the truth.  All that dirt came out of a hole in the parking lot where the new commercial grease interceptor was buried. (see below)

Pray For Steve

I wanted to invited everyone to pray for Steve Schechtman and his family. Steve's father passed away today after about 7 years of illness. He was in a local convalescent home and Steve is able to be there for his mother at this time. I will let everyone know if there is anything that we can do to help the family.

The Construction Is Moving Foreward

 

Well another week has gone by with quite a bit more work done on the Jesse Lane building.  Here are some pictures of the new concrete poured on the ground floor, and some of the electrical conduit that has been added.

Thank you to Daniel Wallior, Andy & Ron Musser, and Eileen, for their help today.  We got the truncated domes installed near the handicap parking stalls, and the left over dirt hauled away from the bathrooms and the excess from the new concrete approaches.  Daniel and Andy made short work of the concrete left from the saw cutting.  Ron estimated they weighed about 450 lbs each, and after he and I took a few whacks with an 8 lb sledge, just to show the youngsters the proper technique, the young muscles took over and pulverized the 7" thick block of rock, from there, it was off to the dumpster.

Meanwhile, Eileen was  maneuvering the shop vac between the studs, the wall studs that is,  to clean the dirt out of the metal wall tracks.  Next week, we will need to pull the data cables, and of course do some more cleanup. Come join in and be a part of "The Second Story".


We also want to thank Kari Gillette for providing the workers with lunch on Friday.  They were surprised and pleased.  Way to go Kari.

Property News
We have an offer on the property but it was less than we felt it was worth so we have made a counter offer. Stay tuned.
Well we didn’t have to wait long. Our counter offer was countered with some small changes. The Elder Board had already discussed the possibilities, and the new terms were still above the minimums deemed acceptable to the board. The result is the property has sold for:

Sell Price: $300,000

Down Payment: $100,000

Interest Rate 7%

Amortized Term: 30 years, Balance Payable in 10 years.

Please realize that in the last 3 years, no piece of land worth more than $100,000 has been sold in the Woodcrest area, yet ours sold in 14 days. Can you see God?

Building News
We have a new bridge loan that will extend out 1 year. We had no less than 5 banks competing for our loan. The best part is we were able to roll the entire loan together, which erases the April deadline to pay off the initial bridge loan. That will give us up to a year to show 80% Executive Office occupancy. Once that is done, we can apply for a standard loan.
Right now, the money borrowed, including the new loan is less than half the bank appraised value of the finished building. Praise the Lord, and can I get an Amen?

Construction News
Thanks to Toni & Bill Lincoln, Tom Elder, Sarah, Jeff Posth, Sam & Josh of course, and Tom & Ben Christopherson for the work they did on the Jesse Lane building. The sprinklers have been moved or capped, the dirt dug out to allow for concrete to be poured for approaches at the new door locations. The floors are cleaner, and the old electronic equipment has been hauled away -- thanks Toni & Bill.

Next week its my turn, and we will be working on placing the required ADA truncated domes on the sidewalk wheel chair approaches. What are truncated domes you ask, well come down and we'll give you a first had look at the ins and outs of turncated domes. Of course we always need cleanup, so if turncated domes aren't for you, there are plenty of other jobs that need to be done.

Construction update!!

As of today we have an official building permit and can start construction. We have hired a framing sub contractor and by using competitive bidding for that position we have saved over $30,000. Hopefully our framing contractor can start this Saturday. We now need to look forward to finding what time we can give to the project. Whether it is making phone calls, sweeping up trash, moving pile A to pile B, getting materials, buying materials or even the cooking of a weekly meal for our contractors to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication. The time has come for us all to give to this project so that we do not burden a few. If construction starts this Saturday we will need a crew of volunteers for November 3rd to do clean up and many small projects that are required at the new building. • Leadership of the church to not be overwhelmed by the project
• Safety for the contractors
• the removal of a preexisting fee on the new building
• for us all to be patient and wait on Gods timing

• for people to volunteer to lead Saturday work groups as we only have 2 signed up
• Volunteers for work days
